Reflecting on all we accomplished together in 2025 – thank you for an incredible year.
Dear Mt. Adams Democrats,
As we enter the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to take a moment to share our deep gratitude for all of you who made 2025 an incredible year for the Mt. Adams Democrats. Looking back, we have so much to be thankful for.
Our monthly meetings were filled with thoughtful, energizing conversations, thanks to the community leaders, candidates, and elected officials who joined us. Together, we explored the impact of statewide voucher expansion with members of our school board, learned how to preserve and strengthen our city’s parks, and took a deep dive into the ongoing battle to protect the separation of church and state. Each discussion gave us a clearer understanding of what’s at stake locally and strengthened our commitment to informed civic engagement.
Thank you to our guest speakers for sharing their time and expertise and thank you to all of you who joined us on the last Monday of each month. Your questions, perspectives, and presence continue to make our meetings meaningful and inspiring.
This year’s work culminated on Election Day, and what a day it was. With critical races for mayors, city councils, township trustees, and school boards across the region, neighbors and community leaders throughout Hamilton County united behind 72 candidates and issues. Sixty-four of them won. These outcomes would not have been possible without the dedication of volunteers across the county, including our Mt. Adams neighbors who stood at the polls on November 4th handing out Democratic slate cards and extending our values through neighborly, informed engagement. A big welcome to all our new members who signed up to join the Mt. Adam’s Democrats after placing their vote. A heartfelt thank you to our Ward 8 Precinct Executives and every Mt. Adams volunteer who helped elect Democrats this year.
We also want to celebrate a powerful moment of community action: Casey Knotts, Dave McCabe and Katherine Augustin worked together to organize the Mt. Adams Food Drive on November 10th, which delivered more than 3,000 pounds of food to Queen City Kitchen in Walnut Hills. Many of our members played key roles in organizing and spreading the word, and we are especially grateful to the leadership and partnership of Mt. Adams resident and QCK Board President Jean Sepate. We look forward to supporting future drives together.
A warm thank you also goes to Mike Twombly and the team at HiFi, who generously opened their doors to host us each month. Having a welcoming home for our conversations has made a tremendous difference.
And finally, we want to express our deep appreciation to our exceptional Mt. Adams Democrats leadership team – Lucas, Leila, Dave, Kristin, and Katherine – for their dedication, creativity, and organizing spirit. Your efforts have expanded our programming, strengthened our digital presence, and amplified our voice in the community. We are proud to be in this fight with you and grateful for the future we are building together.
